Students

In education the goal is to ensure that students leave with the foundation to develop skills for a career. Your education, life, and future belongs to you. Don’t let anything hold you back from being successful. Success is not a singular term, it can mean so many things. Success is happiness. Progress is happiness. Choose to pursue happiness.
Going to College?
Great! Start building a portfolio today. Find opportunities to serve your local communities. Do projects to make your hometowns better. Create change. Be the person that organizations want to give scholarships. College doesn’t need to be expensive, but one thing it will take: a lot of time. Good grades and an ACT score worth being proud of are important, but many scholarships are given based off how much you give back (community service, student government, being a local leader, etc). Ask your school counselor about Western Undergraduate Exchange and you could study outside of Utah without paying full out of state tuition. Many times, FASFA can and will cover the entire cost of tuition.
Always be diligent and finish long before deadlines, especially with programs like financial aid that work on a first come, first serve basis. Most importantly, take your education seriously. Find degrees that will produce a good return on investment. As much as studying dance will be fun, it might not pay the greatest.

Don’t Want to Go to College? There are other options!
You don’t need to be a doctor, lawyer, or politician to be successful (or wealthy for that matter), you just need to be driven and smart enough to pass a few tests. Life is full of them. Typically when students think of education, they think of a traditionally college campus and getting a degree. For many students this a great route to take, however, let this be said: there are many more options than college. (They earn respectable wages too!)
If you don’t think college is right for you, consider going into a trade that’s in high demand. Many companies will pay for your schooling while also employing you. Trades like Apprentice Electricians and Plumbers usually start wages around $15 per hour and will pay for you to journey out. Garfield County has a high demand for these types of professionals (as do most places in the world currently) so you could enjoy a good amount of job security at a very comfortable wage, and the best part is, you could live in one of the most beautiful places in America.
